Get moving!

The more you do nothing, the more of nothing you do. Have you noticed? It is the combination of inertia and procrastination. Don’t feed the beast of your fears and doubt. They only fuel the strength of it all and make it bigger and harder to get moving.

The only way forward is to do!

It’s true! The only way forward is to take action. Even if it is a small step, it will start the momentum and with each successive step, you will build on what you have just accomplished. It feels GREAT!

Take the time you need

Of course, you need to take the time you need to rest. Give yourself a reason to get moving again before you take time away.

As an author, I am encouraged to end every scene, chapter, and section with a cliffhanger – something that whets the appetite of the reader to keep them coming back for more.

You are your story!

Write your story accordingly. If you know you will be taking time away, give yourself a compelling reason to return. Whet your appetite! Fuel the anticipation of your return within yourself. Give yourself a reason to look forward to coming back and get yourself moving!

What can you do today?

  • What one thing can you do today to prepare for tomorrow? or your lunch break? or after that long meeting you might attend this afternoon?
  • What will increase the likelihood that you will want to get back to whatever is on your agenda?
  • What will move you in a direction to keep your momentum going?
