When unexpected things happen, it can knock you off balance. It is the purpose of the unexpected. Your mission is to get back into balance (or as near as possible) once more.
There are many ways you can do this. I suggest you ask the question, ‘What do I need to see in this?’ or ‘What can I learn from this experience?’ This gives you an opportunity to make some time for a breath and some quiet contemplation. There are always layers of learnings to uncover and discover if you choose it.
Yes, these unexpected things can be emotionally upsetting, physically painful, or downright unfair and uncomfortable. Accept this to be so and release the emotion, pain, and discomfort as quickly as you can. Look for the joy in the recovery. There is great resilience in you and perhaps, that is the greatest lesson of all.
